New York, NY – (January 29, 2008) – Wimba, the education technology company that helps people teach people, announced today that Jim Thibeau has joined the company as senior vice president, Professional Services and a member of its executive team.
Thibeau will lead Wimba’s Professional Services organization and is responsible for Consulting, Technical Services, Installation Support and Training worldwide. Thibeau will oversee all of the company’s service methods and tools, portfolio and offerings, and service delivery and sales support. “Our customers view Wimba Professional Services as a key component of optimizing their value of Wimba Collaboration Suite. Through Jim’s leadership, we look forward to further strengthening our service offerings and ability to deliver even more value to our customers,” said Tommaso Trionfi, CEO of Wimba. “Jim is a proven services executive in the education software industry. His extensive experience building service practices and executing on a global scale will be critical to helping Wimba expand its market leadership while delivering the most comprehensive collaborative learning software solution.”
Thibeau brings to Wimba over 20 years of services and consulting experience with software and system integration companies. He was previously vice president, North American Higher Education Services for Blackboard, where he drove over $12 million in annual revenue and improved consulting capabilities. Prior to Blackboard, Thibeau was vice president, Global Professional Services of WebCT. Under his leadership, the organization grew revenue an average of 50% annually over four years. Before WebCT, Thibeau held a number of senior professional services roles at Baydon Solutions, Platinum Technology (now CA) and WexTech Systems. He also held positions of increasing responsibility at Information Mapping, most recently as director, Product Development.

Thibeau received his master’s of history from Boston University, and his bachelor’s of history from University of New Hampshire. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Florence Crittenton League, a 100 year-old non-profit adoption agency.
