HowToMoodle Taps Horizon Wimba Live Classroom for Training

NEW YORK, NY and PRIORSLEE, TELFORD, UNITED KINGDOM – (May 2, 2006) – HowToMoodle, the United Kingdom-based Moodle Partner whose training events help Moodle users appreciate the potential of working with Moodle, announced today that it will use Horizon Wimba’s Live Classroom in order to deliver, live, web-based Moodle training seminars.

Now, Moodle users throughout the United Kingdom will be able to login to Horizon Wimba’s Live Classroom from the comfort of their homes or offices in order to learn the ins-and-outs of the Moodle virtual learning environment (VLE). HowToMoodle will use Live Classroom features such as audio, chat, PowerPoint display, and application sharing to help Moodle users to become effective quickly.

HowToMoodle sought a virtual classroom solution which had a licensing model that suited its needs, as well as one which could be used by clients across a range of operating systems. In addition, HowToMoodle needed this solution to be easy to use for both presenters/trainers and end users, as the focus should be on the participation in the training not on mastery of the delivery medium. After an extensive evaluation, HowToMoodle selected Horizon Wimba’s Live Classroom.

“I signed up for a demonstration of Live Classroom and was immediately struck by how easy it was to get to grips with as a new user and the simplicity of the back-end administration,” said Ray Lawrence, Founder of HowToMoodle. “After spending a little time to check out the features and to trial a couple of scenarios, I decided to sign up and it’s been all good since.”

Lawrence had already been acquainted with the high level of support from Horizon Wimba’s UK team, as he had a long association with Horizon Wimba’s course authoring tool, Course Genie. And during the Live Classroom evaluation process, Lawrence again commended Horizon Wimba’s support team, calling his experience with Live Classroom of being of a similarly high calibre. “I received an individual training session and all of my queries were promptly dealt with,” he added. “Shortly after receiving training I was able to offer timely and effective support and training to clients.”
