EDMUNDS, SUFFOLK, ENGLAND – (March 5, 2007) – Horizon Wimba, the leading provider of collaboration tools and software applications to the online education market, is pleased to announce that its Assessment Product Manager (Europe), Dr. David Wild, has been named to the Management Board of the UK’s e-Assessment Association (eAA). Dr. Wild will provide his expertise in collaborative education software and publishing to the eAA Board, which is comprised of senior managers of UK-based Awarding Bodies, educational establishments and private companies.
The e-Assessment Association, which officially launches on 8 March 2007, intends to:
· Become the industry body for e-Assessment professionals
· Establish the benchmarks and professional standards for the e-Assessment profession, including individuals and organisations
· Provide a framework for the industry body for the e-Learning Industry
Dr. Wild has over 15 years experience in e-assessment. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Assessment in Mathematics. Over the years, he has worked with several major awarding bodies in the design and implementation of high-stakes and formative testing. He was also a lecturer of Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh where his work contributed to national awards for innovation in education.
Dr. Wild spoke of his delight in being part of e-Assessment Association, saying, “I am honoured to represent Horizon Wimba and to work with the Management Team at the eAA.
