Fox WXMI in Grand Rapids, Michigan aired a 90-second news segment about faculty and students at Grand Rapids Community College using Wimba Pronto for spontaneous communication outside of the formal classroom environment. Wimba Pronto extends the learning environment, particularly at commuter schools such as GRCC. As the reporter says on-air, “The commuter-clad campus is a login away from convenience and clarification....We’ve heard of Facebooking and instant messaging, and now of Pronto’ing.”
“For me, I can connect with those who are a little more reticent to ask questions in class. Sometimes you can’t really gleen if they really get a point.”
