Karen Gage is responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of marketing, publishing solutions, and business development at Wimba.
With over 15 years of experience in leading marketing organizations, managing products, and analyzing B2B software markets, Gage’s expertise spans marketing strategy formation in small–to–medium sized businesses to product line repositioning post-merger.
Before joining Wimba, Gage was Vice President at Blackboard, responsible for directing product strategy, establishing a 3–year plan for the merged product lines of a $100+ million business, and leading its Web 2.0 Innovation Center. Gage joined Blackboard through its merger with WebCT, where she initially worked as a product manager in 1999 and moved into business strategy/business development before serving as its Senior Vice President of Marketing, guiding marketing efforts to expand share of wallet among domestic clients, target new economic buyers, and acquire new clients internationally. Before WebCT, Gage worked at Inso Corp., a content management software company, where she was director of product marketing. Prior to her career in software marketing and strategy, Gage was an equity analyst covering the software industry at Alex. Brown and Sons.
Gage received her bachelor′s degree in Economics from Duke University and her MBA from Columbia Business School.
