Award Details:
The School Nurse Educator of the Year award is awarded by the National Association of School Nurses to a school nurse educator, in recognition of a significant contribution to school nursing. Academic and/or research related contributions as well as outstanding service to NASN and/or impact upon school nursing at the national level are taken into consideration for this award. Using Wimba Classroom, Selekman was able to expand her graduate class to accommodate an additional 20 students who are synchronously online and piped into the live classroom. This unique approach enabled her to “optimize the teaching and learning environment for students with a variety of needs,” says Kathy Matt, Dean of University of Delaware’s College of Health Sciences.
