Award Details:
The Excellence in Distance Learning Award is awarded by the United States Distance Learning Association (USLDA) to individuals, organizations or companies for excellence in the field distance learning, education and training. The award recipients have achieved and demonstrated extraordinary results in distance learning through the use of online, videoconferencing satellite and blended learning delivery technologies. Dr. Sam Slike and Pamela Berman were recognized for their use of Wimba in offering courses specifically designed for the deaf and hard of hearing; thus giving the students equal access to information (via the internet) and education.
