I have a web resource that allows students to play a recorded audio file where they listen to the Spanish word and then there is a pause where they are supposed to practice speaking the word. They can do this on their own, but I’d like to be able to have them record their session using the Wimba Voice Recorder and be able to capture not only the audio of them speaking, but also the recording that they are listening to. Here’s a link to one of the recordings, which may help clarifiy what I am trying to do. (We are using WebCT/Blackboard Vista).
Have tried recording using a headset/microphone combination and the recording from the web audio file gets distorted, although the student’s voice is captured just fine. I have not tried with an external microphone and external speaker set, but imagine that it would result in a lot of feedback from the mic to speakers.
