An engaged student is a successful student.  That’s one thing educators know for certain, and this applies to students in face-to-face, blended, or entirely online courses.

How are you increasing student engagement at your school or university?

Hi,
One thing we are doing in my Health Assessment online class is using the breakout rooms for role playing and solving case studies. Our first use this semester was well received by the students.

Yes, increased student engagement is evident in my Humanities f2f courses on campus as well as totally ONLINE courses. The majority of my students adjust readily to Assignment Schedules and Course Objectives; however, a number require clarifications and reminders. Quick access to their iCollege course HOMEPAGE -enable them to click to the weekly Unit postings including Calendar & Resources.
For example, when the flu (illness) and weather factors caused an inordinate amount of absences, the ONLINE course accessibility enabled me (as Instructor) to maintain active and interactive email contact with my students within the MAIL link. Often, when students have questions about an assignment, lecture or discussion, a prompt response ‘saves the day’.  Class (group)DISCUSSIONS chronicle individual topic assignments effectively.
My Opinion: One of the best technological advances in Higher Education and (K-12) as well;)
